An extraction is performed when a tooth needs to be removed because of unrestorable disease. We take great pride in predictably restoring heavily damaged teeth, so be assured if we recommend an extraction you really need it! We take great pride in preserving the shape of the original bone around even the most broken down and infected teeth. We make sure to remove your tooth carefully and painlessly (we have many options to keep things painless and to reduce your anxiety!). We then carefully form the area around where your tooth was so that the shape of the tissue around your tooth is preserved in the same shape it was prior to the tooth coming out. Implants when done after a careful extraction should end up with gums around them that look just like a natural tooth.
